Scientists in testing laboratories all over the world are familiar with the different tools they have to use in order to conduct certain tests and experiments.
Some laboratory testing apparatus are simply different versions of one type of equipment, while others can be found in science laboratories in schools.
The fume hood is a familiar laboratory testing apparatus; it prevents a person from inhaling the toxic fumes that come from the chemicals that are being handled in the laboratory.
The fume hood consists of a ventilation system that pumps the harmful fumes out and provides fresh air inside.
The fume hood has a glass cover that allows scientists to see what they are doing (transferring hydrochloric acid into a beaker, etc.
), without having them pop their head into the hood itself.
An inoculation hood or UV sterile chamber, on the other hand, helps prevent harmful bacteria or other forms of contaminants from escaping into the air.
This is usually used by microbiologists when studying or controlling bacteria samples.
Autoclaves are best described as sterilizing tools that clean any laboratory testing apparatus.
It exposes laboratory glass tools such as beakers and flasks to very high steam pressure, usually at 121°C for no less than 15 minutes.
Surgical instruments are also cleaned using the autoclave.
Although this isn't necessarily used during any laboratory tests, the fact that it helps prevent contamination of previous chemicals and other bacteria that would affect future test results, makes it a valuable laboratory testing apparatus.
The centrifuge is a testing tool that separates heavy particles from light particles.
A liquid sample is placed in a test tube and then spun at very high speeds.
This causes the heavy and light particles to separate; the heavy particles can be found at the bottom of the test tube, while the lighter particles are found floating at the top.

These tools help scientists conduct their experiments and tests accurately and precisely, and it also shows us just how far we have gone in the name of science.
