How to Alphabetize With Word in Vista

    • 1). Open the Word document that you want to alphabetize.

    • 2). Click and drag the cursor to select the entries in the list. While you can alphabetize entries in a list you cannot alphabetize a body of text such as a paragraph or sentence.

    • 3). Click the "Sort" button in the "Paragraph" section of the "Home" tab on the toolbar. The "Sort" button has the letters "A" and "Z" with a little arrow.

    • 4). Click the "Paragraphs and Text" option under the "Sort By" category and click either "Ascending" or "Descending." Click "OK" to alphabetize the list.
