Video: How to Space in Crochet
Hi, I'm Sharon Whelchel and we're filming here in Tustin, California, today from my crochet studio for my Etsy shop, Starlike. And today, I'm going to teach you guys how to add space into your crochet . It can be really easy to make lacy kind of patterns and add a little bit more of that like dainty lacy feel to your work. So, I'm just going to show you guys a couple of steps and hope you enjoy it. So, working with double crochet stitch, I'm going to skip the first stitch to make a space. So, since I'm skipping one stitch, I'm going to chain one and then yarn over and start the next double crochet stitch right here. So, I'll pull through, pull it through the first two and pull it through the last two. And there I have a space. If you want to make a bigger space, you can always skip more stitches. So, if I want to skip two, then I chain two and then yarn over, insert the hook three stitches away, pull through and pull through. And there you have a space in your crochet.
