how can I write on a sphere

hiI want to use text2D as texture for a sphere..How can I do that..!!thanks a lot

how about creating a BufferedImage, wrtiting on it using the Graphics-object with a speficic font. and finally put it in an ImageComponenet for creating a texture ?
