Java 5 update 6 bluescreen with firefox + during deinstallation of java
Hi,
I have a resisting problem on xp sp2 which really makes me almost go mad. However, you Java experts are my last hope before I go.
Since the update from Java 5 update 2 to update 6 I have bluescreens. First time it happened while surfing on a java-based website with firefox whereafter I closed firefox and the hole system went down. This is always reproducable!
Immediately I debugged the minidump.dmp. Result: "Probably caused by : ati3duag.dll ( ati3duag+eb5df )".
Afterwards I de- and reinstalled the graphic card-driver in safe mode which didn't help. The same I did with firefox, no success.
At least I tried deinstalling Java 5 update 6 and then guess what happened before the deinstall could finish: yes, it crashed the system again.
Now, what shall I do? I can't downgrade java to Java 5 update 2 anymore. Any ideas before Java system permanent crashes will blow up my hardware?
