Java IDL and Firewall traversal

Hi,

I'm investigating how to allow a CORBA application to work across a firewall and NAT. I would be very grateful for any help\pointers to how the Java ORB can be used across a firewall - particularly if there is a proxy available.

Having read up on the problem described here:

gsd.ime.usp.br/integrade/publications/doa2005.pdf

It seems that the JacORB had a proxy mechanism in the "Appligator" (that seems to be now deprecated) - is there an equivalent for the Java IDL ORB? Or maybe an HTTP proxy exists?
