Sun StorEdge(tm) Configuration Service Installation errors/bug
Hi all,
I am installing Sun StorEdge(tm) Configuration Service (SSCS) 2.3 on Solaris 9 server. I have a 3510FC Disk array attached via 2GB (emlx Sun OEMed) Fibre cards.
The installation of SSCS should create 3 users ssmon, ssadmin and ssconfig. However during install I get the following errors;
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
Using uid 60000 for username ssmon.
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
Using uid 60000 for username ssadmin.
UX: useradd: ERROR: uid 60000 is already in use. Choose another.
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
/var/sadm/pkg/SUNWsscs/install/postinstall: getent: not found
Using uid 60000 for username ssconfig.
UX: useradd: ERROR: uid 60000 is already in use. Choose another.
The postinstall script seems to have failed to increment the uid by 1 for each user?
Anyone else experience this? Is there a work around. Can I create the users manually with useradd? If yes how do I may SSCS aware of created users. I have downloaded and read all the PDFs for this but to no avail.
Best Regards,
Kevin.
