It's very hard to answer, and what I say might only be true in Sweden. :)
Financy usually pays better than Telecom (but both are fun areas to work within). I don't know what you mean by Hi-Tech, but there are many many web developers so the competition is harder there. Many web based applications are also rather easy to develop compared to financial and telecom applications.
I wouldn't chose internet.

I am also a fresher when i joined in an MNC before 10 months..
At the initial stages don't be much bothered about the domain you are working. Normally what happens is we all IT savvys keep on exploring technology(may be java or mainframe). What ever may be the domain, u should try to learn the business over there. In all the domains u mentioned the developer needs to know the business..
so its always business first and then technology..
> so its always business first and then technology..
I've been working within many different areas, telecom, bioinformatics, finance and music industry etc. I get the contracts because I know the technologies and how to build systems. The customers have people who knows the business.

see I have only 10 months experience and i am working with a company having insurance as its domain...
Here we must know the business. So i belive we have to know the business otherwise we will be mearly coding the specifications of a client..
See am not arguing with you..i have only one company experience..for the last 10 months am working with one company.
> see I have only 10 months experience and i am working> with a company having insurance as its domain...But you did get the job without knowing the business?
Yes but I do have to study the business
> Yes but I do have to study the businessYes, but that is something you do when you have the job. Many companies (in Sweden) hire talented developers and expects them to learn the business, it's usually not the other way around.

10 months is not a lot. IMO a good minimum time to stay with one employer is several years.
I've many (ex-)colleagues who spent 10-20 years with the same company. Only then do you really know the business.

> > i am a college passout fresher...>> I wondered if this was some sort of sports position> (like a "long snapper") that I'd never heard of...It's that fellow from the restaurant that distributes the after-dinner mints.~
"But Monsieur, the mint is only wafer thin!!"
Yes yes i do agree with u..i want to be with this company as many years as possible. I never like to work with other domain because i know its not easy. But I have to accept the changes in technology. for the time being its jsf ..who knows tomarrow it may become Microsoft tech..at that time its not easy for us to change the business domain and trying to stick on java. I like these discusions...i will be in touch with u....
bye .............
