Multi character devices on USB port to see as one

I posted a message because I did not reach to connect my Palm Tungsten to my SunBlade 1500. Finally, that works! How? I don't really know, but that works.

I have another problem :-) :

JPilot or pilot-link have a problem to see the right port (and so do I).

My Palm is attach as /dev/usb/830.61/0 (till there nothing to say) but that is a directory! In fact the device (!) is attached as 11 character devices:

/dev/usb/830.61/0/cntrl0

/dev/usb/830.61/0/cntrl0stat

/dev/usb/830.61/0/devstat

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0in1

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0in1stat

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0in6

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0in6stat

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0out2

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0out2stat

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0out7

/dev/usb/830.61/0/if0out7stat

According to ugen man page, it is normal! But it is 10 devices too much for pilot-link.

Any idea?

A dedicated driver "normally" is not needed... Or something is to do, more.

Open to any suggestion, thank you!
