I/O errors on a USB disc
I have a 0.5Tb Lacie Big Disc and a SunBlade 1500 workstation running Solaris 10 (and fully patched with recommended and security patches). The disc is said to be Solaris Ready.
After doing some RTFM, I managed to get the disc working happily when plugged into one of the SunBlade's USB ports. But only temporarily; running a large job dumping to the disc caused I/O errors, and the directory and/or the disc became unreadable. Stopping and starting volume management didn't help.
But it's not a disc problem; the disc works fine attached to a Linux box, and the dump job works fine when the disc is attached to the Linux box and NFS mounted to the Solaris box.
All suggestions welcome!
