IM corrupts the Portal

Hi,

After using IM (browser) from the Portal my portal gets corrupted.

When I click on any other link such as COntent or layout or even on another Tab it displays the a page saying :

My Contacts

No on-line contacts.

Start the Instant Messenger or click an icon to chat with a person.

How to correct this?
