Failed Installation

I attempted to install SunOneIM Evaluation on a SUSE 9.0 server. Since this is my local box and I am trying to do an eval, I did not have a DNS name for this box, so I elected to just accept a "blank" DNS name, but the install failed with a FATAL error.

I tried to uninstall the product using the uninstall .class file located in /opt and that did not work, so, I removed all directories that I could find that had anything to do with SOIM.Now, however, I cannot re-install the product - all selections for the product are unchecked and grayed-out.

Can someone please tell me how to completely remove the product so that I can try again? We really want to take a look at this product.

As part of the underlying technology, there's a product registry file living in /var/tmp/productregistry. You should either remove it or at least remove the instant

messaging portions of it (marked with compid elements).

As to the configuring w/o networking setup, i don't know that such a configuration is supported, but perhaps just setting your domain name with dnsdomainname could help you past that point.
